Gojoye is an online platform for homes to rent in Addis Ababa. Owners list their homes, and renters search them and contact owners directly.

We are not a real estate agent and we are not a party to any rental agreement. We don't own, inspect or manage the homes listed, and we don't collect rent or deposits.

By creating an account or using Gojoye, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Gojoye.

You need an account to save homes, contact owners, list a home or pay for anything. You can sign in with your phone number and a one-time code, with an email and password, or with Google or Facebook where available.

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
• An account is for one person. Don't share it or sign in as someone else.
• Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
• One account can be both a renter and an owner. To list homes, you need a verified phone number and to verify your identity with Fayda.

Listing a home on Gojoye is free. By listing a home, you confirm that you own it or are allowed to rent it out, and that everything in the listing (the description, photos, price and location) is true and up to date.

Our team checks every new listing before it appears. We may ask for changes, reject a listing, or unpublish it later if it breaks these terms or gets serious reports. A listing stays live for 30 days after approval, and you can renew it for free.

Renters see an approximate location for your home, within about 300 metres. Your exact location is only visible to you and our team.

If you mark a home as rented or deactivate it, renters can no longer contact you about it. Please keep your listings current.

When you contact an owner, any agreement you make (the rent, the deposit, the length of stay, the condition of the home) is between you and the owner alone.

Always visit a home and check who you are dealing with before you pay anything. Gojoye can't guarantee that a listing is accurate or that a home is still available, even when the owner or listing is verified.

Searching, saving homes and reading reviews are free. To see an owner's phone number or chat with them, you need a paid plan. Each plan includes a number of contact unlocks for its period, and some plans are unlimited. Opening a number you have already unlocked is always free. Starting a chat with an owner also unlocks their number.

You can have one paid plan at a time. Auto-renewal is on by default: shortly before your plan ends, we prepare the renewal payment and you approve it with your payment provider. Nothing is charged without your approval. If the renewal isn't paid by the end date, your account moves to the Free plan. You can turn auto-renewal off at any time from My plan, and your plan stays active until its end date.

Owners can pay to boost a live listing for a set number of days. A boost can't be extended, and one listing can have one boost at a time.

Payments are processed by our payment provider, where you choose Telebirr, CBE Birr or a card. Prices are shown in Ethiopian birr before you pay. If something went wrong with a payment, contact us with your receipt number and we will look into it.

To keep Gojoye safe for everyone, you agree not to:

• Post a home you can't rent out, or one that doesn't exist.
• Ask for money, a deposit or a fee before the renter has seen the home.
• Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone.
• Post false reviews, or reviews for homes you haven't been in contact about.
• Send spam, or use Gojoye to advertise other services.
• Copy, collect or resell listings or owners' phone numbers, by hand or with automated tools.
• Get around plan limits, security checks or moderation.

You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, messages and reviews you post. You give Gojoye permission to store and show them on Gojoye, and to resize or crop photos, for as long as they are on the platform.

Reviews must be honest and about your own experience. Reviews that contain phone numbers, links or abusive words wait for a check by our team before they appear. Owners can reply to a review once, but can't hide or delete it.

Anyone can report a listing, a profile, a message or a review. Our team reviews every report. Depending on what happened, we may dismiss it, warn someone, hide content, unpublish a listing, remove a verified badge, suspend an account or block a phone number from Gojoye.

Listings that get several serious reports in a short time are hidden automatically until we have checked them. If we suspend your account or unpublish or hide your listing, you'll see why, and you can appeal the decision once.

We work hard to keep Gojoye accurate, available and safe, but we provide it as it is. We are not responsible for the homes listed, for what other people say or do, or for agreements and disputes between renters and owners.

As far as the law allows, Gojoye is not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by events we can't reasonably control. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ethiopian law that can't be limited.

We may update these terms as Gojoye changes. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Gojoye after that, you accept the new terms.

You can stop using Gojoye at any time. To close your account, contact us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. If we can't resolve a disagreement by talking to each other, it will be settled by the competent courts in Addis Ababa.
