We collect only what we need to run Gojoye:

• Account details: your phone number, email address, name, profile photo, preferred language and display theme.
• Identity checks: when an owner verifies with Fayda, we keep a confirmation that the check passed and a unique reference, so one identity verifies one account. We don't store your ID number, photo, birth date or other personal details from Fayda.
• Ownership documents: a lease or utility bill you upload to get a verified badge on a listing.
• Listings: the home's details, photos and exact location.
• Your activity: homes you save, contacts you unlock, your plan and payments (amount, method, payment reference and receipt number), messages, reviews and reports.
• Security information: the IP address and browser of each signed-in session, and a record of security events such as new sign-ins and password changes.

We use your information to:

• Create your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
• Show listings, connect renters with owners and run chat.
• Process payments, plans and boosts, and give you receipts.
• Check listings, identities and documents, and handle reports and appeals.
• Send you sign-in codes and notifications about your account, listings, payments and messages.
• Answer you when you contact us, and improve Gojoye.

Other people on Gojoye see your name and profile photo. An owner's phone number is shown only to renters who unlock it, and a listing's location is shown only approximately.

We share information with the companies that help us run Gojoye, and only what each one needs:

• Our payment provider, which receives your name and email to process a payment.
• Our SMS and email providers, which deliver sign-in codes and messages.
• Our media storage provider, which stores photos sent in chat and in reports.
• OpenStreetMap, which provides the map and turns addresses into map points.

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect people from fraud or harm. We never sell your information.

When you list a home, you give us its exact location. On public pages and the search map, we move that point by up to 300 metres, always by the same amount for the same listing, so renters see the area without seeing the address. The exact point is visible only to you and our team.

We don't track your device's location.

We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and may store your language choice. While you write a listing, a draft is kept in your browser so you don't lose it. We don't use advertising or third-party analytics cookies.

• Account information: for as long as your account is open.
• Ownership documents: deleted automatically 30 days after you upload them.
• Payment records: for as long as the law requires us to keep them.
• Information about rule-breaking, such as a blocked phone number: for as long as we need it to keep Gojoye safe.

We protect your information with encrypted connections, hashed passwords, optional two-step sign-in and limits on repeated attempts. Only team members who need to see information to do their job can access it, and admin access to reported chats is logged.

You can see and change your details in Account settings at any time. To get a copy of your information or to have your account and information deleted, contact us and we will do it, unless the law requires us to keep something.

Gojoye is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information about children.

If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app first.
